Bleach and bromate are both chemicals that are sometimes added to flours, but not ours Bleach makes the flour whiter, but we use a sifting process to achieve the same end with traditional methods. Bromate can be added to flour to enhance the rise of the flour when goods are baking, but we opt for adding malted barley to the flour which has the same effect using a natural method.
